The Children of Iomei is the name given to both the pantheon of gods and the organized religion that has grown up around them. The religion's organization is a very shallow pyramid, with numerous clerics serving the people and directed by archclerics, prelates, and finally the Grand Prelate, him (or her) self. It is a very people-oriented religion, praising cooperation and helping one's neighbors.
You have to understand that when they accept, and even promote, the oppression of godtouched, it is because they feel that doing so is the best way to preserve civilization and human lives. They have countless stories of how godtouched have shattered the world and they would gladly give up those godtouched 'miracles' to shield their society from godtouched 'curses'. These are not evil people, by and large, and while your characters are free to feel that way, I would prefer that the players keep in mind that perception is a powerful and fickle thing. One man's angel is another man's demon.
